PRODUCE

1. Where do you source your beef + lamb from?

Both our beef and lamb is sourced direct from Parwan Valley, Victoria. There are many reasons why we choose Parwan, head to the 'Our Sources' page to learn all about Parwan Valley.

 

3. Where do you source your chicken from?

4. How does your meat come packaged?

We initially started our online order + home delivery service in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic - it was a quick start! As a result, we do use plastic to package our meat for your orders, however we are looking at other more sustainable alternatives. We will keep you well updated on these developments.

Your meat will come wrapped in paper and in a re-usable plastic bag to ensure it's protected well during transport.

5. Does any of your meat contain preservatives?

NO! None of our meat has preservatives in it. This is especially important to know after your order has been delivered to you. Please follow storage instructions on your card carefully to avoid your meat going off. Our mince will need to be frozen immediately if you're not using it straight away - because the meat fibres have been broken down in the mincer, it is the most sensitive to time.

On this topic, because individual meat pieces (such as steak) have been placed on top of each other in one bag, sometimes there can be some discolouration to a darker red/purple when they're taken out of the bags - this is NORMAL when no preservative is used. It is simply the absence of oxygen that makes the meat discolour - it does not mean your meat is 'off'. (Side note: when preservative is used - this discolouration does not happen)

6. Is my order cut fresh?

Yes. Your order is cut fresh the morning of your delivery! Two reasons for this:

a) We always want you to receive the freshest cuts possible 

b) We don't use preservative (!)

 

ORDERING

1. Am I able to select a delivery date and time?

Yes, BEFORE you click 'checkout', you will be required to do 2 things:

a. Read our 'Delivery Info' page and confirm that you have done so by ticking the box.

b. Choose your day/time of delivery

2. Am I able to leave a note for the butchers; for example, on how to slice something?

Yes you definitely can. Generally we have been very specific in the product pages in terms of steak thickness etc. However, we will need your guidance on how to cut, say a larger marrow bone as it depends on what you want to use it for. (We also love receiving any feedback in the notes too! :) )

 

DELIVERY

1. Who actually delivers my order?

Our main delivery driver, Krystle, will generally drop off your order with a smile! She also holds a Level 2 Food Safety & Handling certificate and is up-to-date with latest COVID-19 needs of the community. 

2. Is there a Next-Day-Delivery cut off time?

YES! We deliver Wednesday to Saturdays and the cut-off time is 6pm the night before so please make sure you order before that time if you are in need of produce or have an event.
